Bug List

  1. During the rush of lunch time (12:00 until 1:00), the garbage cans in the Broward Chick-fil-a are completely filled
    • Why: Employees are all allocated to food production
  2. The SW and Student Rec gyms are completely filled when I usually want to go (between 4 and 5pm)
    • Why (option1): I don't know when the ideal time to go is
    • Why (option2): not enough equipment
  3. The smell of waste easily escapes from my trashcan at home
    • Why: Not taken out soon enough, the lid doesn't seal
  4. My suede watch band gets dirty faster than my liking
    • Why: I tend to walk into the garage and immediately start handling dirty/oily/dusty parts without considering to take off the watch.  At some point, my dirty hands touch the band.
  5. Where are the microwaves!?  Since I live off campus and occasionally pack a supposed-to-be-hot lunch, I need to use a microwave on campus.  However, the only microwaves I know of are at the Reitz, which is way out of my way.
    • Why: Not enough microwaves, or their locations are not well documented
  6. The syllabi for every class are formatted differently.  Sometimes difficult to gauge expectations and predict weekly load with the varying formats and detail.
    • Why: Different professors have varying styles and approaches to syllabus creation
  7. If, in an emergency, I have to slam on the brakes of my moped, there is a risk that the front wheel completely locks up.  This causes complete loss of control and only increases the chance of an accident or injury.  (It's happened.  Twice.  Fortunately not on the open road, just me testing the limitations of my vehicle)
    • Why: No ABS.  The rear drum brake does not brake hard enough, so the front brakes must be relied upon more than they should be.
  8. I can only barely make out road signs just as it is almost too late to make the turn
    • Why: I drive too fast.  I don't wear my glasses (too annoying).
  9. SolidWorks only runs on Windows, but I prefer the sleek physical and digital design of a MacBook.
    • Why: SolidWorks has not made an Apple OS compatible software
  10. Locking my helmet to my scooter takes an unnecessary amount of time, especially when running late to class.
    • Why: My full-face helmet is too large to fit in the lockable under-seat compartment
  11. Spam and irrelevant emails plague my inbox and take a significant portion of limited storage
    • Why: Companies which have my information (bitcoin sites in particular :) ) get hacked and/or sell my email address
  12. When I am out of the house, there is no need for the air conditioning or heat to be on: it's a waste of money
    • Why: The thermostat has no idea whether anyone is home at a given time
  13. The vans store back home rarely has the style of shoes that I want
    • Why: Limited storage at the store
  14. At my grandfather's automotive shop in South Florida, leaves constantly blow in the doors and scatter all over the floor
    • Why: The wind blows in the excess leaves which maintenance had not picked up
  15. I never know what to buy food-wise, or what recipe to make, which will have the proper nutrients my body needs to remain healthy and energized
    • Why: I am not a nutritionist/health expert
  16. When scooting to school at 8am and back home around 7pm during the winter in sub 40degF weather, my hands get painfully cold
    • Why: The air is cold, especially at 30+ mph for at least a constant 8minutes.  Also, I don't wear gloves
  17. The thermometer on my dad's grill always fails after only a few uses.
    • Why: WHO KNOWS!?  Maybe overheating or the intense humidity in South Florida
  18. On the days that I pack lunch, it becomes inconvenient to take my books out of my backpack.
    • Why: I place the food at the top of my bag, on-top of all the books.
  19. In the morning, around 7:30/8:00am, and in the afternoon/evening, 3:00-6:00pm, traffic on NW 34th St backs-up from SW 2nd Ave to NW 16th Ave.
    • Why: 34th has a school zone from 16th to 8th and, in the evening, traffic is most-likely due to rush-hour.
  20. Bananas become too ripe for enjoyment after about a week of sitting in a bowl on the counter
    • Why: The rate of ripening does not agree with my consumption of the yellow fruit

Challenges:
In everyday life, I rarely pay attention to the things that bug me.  If a problem arises, I either find a way around it, solve it right away, or tell myself I’ll deal with it later.  I’d say I tend to employ a “forgive and forget” or “solve/deal-with-it and forget” attitude towards bugs.  This exercise forced me to be more conscious of my surroundings and recognize when something wasn’t ideal.

  1. I really can relate to your number 8th bug. I feel like road signs are made out for people who are familiar with those areas. I do like driving fast as well so when the road is not familiar and I am having to force my way to make a right because it is an only right lane, then it makes me look like a bad driver.
